Wiluite (Co-TYPE LOCALITY)

Item Description

A member of the Vesuvianite Group, this fine matrix specimen features two well-formed, lustrous, brown crystals of Wiluite that are up to 1.2 cm in size. It is one of the earlier pieces to come out after the Soviet Era, and it took awhile for reclassification of this material to be confirmed, as it was formerly thought to be vesuvianite. Old specimen from Sharon Cisneros, and looks like she bought it from the Fersman Museum of Moscow when they started deaccessions in the mid 1990s. The cyrillic script translation is: from the Mineralogical Museum of USSR. From the impressive and expansive collection of Dr. Robert J. Lauf, this is a PUBLISHED and Type Locality specimen, both of which are of particular interest to collectors. Ex. Fersman Museum, with note card, book, and any old labels included.
