Item Description

Grayish-brown botyroids of uncommon Chalcophanite, hydrated Zn-Mn-oxide, to 9 mm, are attractively scattered on the contrasting undulating crust of spherical aggregates of lustrous, acicular, gray Willemite crystals. The willemite rests of the hefty, banded matrix of Hematite and Mn-oxides. The rich vuggy matrix on the back hosts a nice bonus of scintillating, glassy, colorless, tiny Hemimorphite crystals. Ex Gary Weaver Collection, a well-known California and Arizona collector. He passed away in 2019. See the excellent 2018 Mineralogical Record Mexico Special Issue VIII on Santa Eulalia, Vol. 49, No. 1. A significant, showy and uncommon large combination from the well-known Potosi Mine at famed Santa Eulalia. Mass is 624 grams or 1.4 pounds.
