Willemite with Cerussite

Green-blue crystals of Willemite cover the shallow vug on the limonite matrix and are accented with small Cerussite crystals on this showy miniature from Tsumeb. It's an attractive combination piece with several sparkling, smoky hued Cerussite crystals adroitly set on the bright, green-green Willemite crystals and the hosting red-brown contrasting matrix. The Willemites are uniquely crystallized, a famous style from Tsumeb. They appear as slightly rounded and of relatively uniform size between 3 and 4 mm , and richly cover the display face. Some people have even broken these unusual gem willemite crystalks open to cut small gems out of the cores. The Cerussite crystals are well-formed, displaying good luster with twinning evident and are 4 to 5 mm in size - and an unusual association! A rare style, valued $1500. The Willemite crystals fluoresce a bright orange in UV light.
