Item Description

Super rich large and sculptural rock ore specimen of densely crystallized lustrous, translucent brown willemite accented with pods of lustrous black franklinite and white calcite from the famous Franklin Mine. Classic neon-green willemite and red calcite fluorescence under SW UV light. Ex Dick Hauck Collection. The nearby equally famous Sterling Mine closed in 1986. Dick and his brother Bob bought the mine at auction in 1989 and opened the Sterling Hill Mining Museum in 1990. .. So you know this is a classic, very rich and excellent large willemite combination from Franklin. Hefty mass is 1854 grams or 4.1 pounds.
