Item Description
Willemite is a well-known and sought after species from Tsumeb that is found is a wide range of colors and habits. This piece hosts lustrous, very gemmy, vitreous, beautiful sea-blue colored, spherical aggregates of fine quality Willemite on contrasting reddish matrix. The Largest Willemite "sphere" meaures 1.3 cm across. When it comes to Willemite, I personally believe that the gem blue "balls from Tsumeb are the most beautiful and desirable examples of the species, though I would say that the golden crystals from Franklin, New Jersey are very close second. With that said, this particular material is highly sought after by Tsumeb collectors these days, and is nearly impossible to find on the market. This piece is in excellent condition with no real damage, and simply looks better in person. Pieces this size with this color and gemminess are not easy to obtain, and it seems that the value of Tsumeb specimens rises daily in this market. Priced at $2,000 in the inventory,
