Item Description

Widgiemoolthalite is an exceptionally rare hydrated nickel hydroxy carbonate species, only found in one place in the world, the 132 North Ni in Western Australia. The species was approved in 1992 and was named after the town of Widgiemooltha, near the type locality. This piece features thin layer of glowing green colored Widgiemoolthalite on host rock matrix. Under magnification, you can see the Widgiemoolthalites have formed in spherical aggregates. VERY FEW of these exist on the market, and if you collect rarities or minerals from the type locality, don't miss out on this one. It's the only specimen of this mineral that we've ever had to offer in the auctions, and it's unlikely we will have another anytime soon. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
