Item Description
Whitmoreite, beraunite and rockbridgeite are rare hydrated iron phosphates found in complex zoned granitic pegmatites. This rich specimen is from very near to the Type Locality of whitmoreite (Palermo #1 Mine) and is from the collection of the species' namesake, Robert Whitmore. Gemmy and lustrous, reddish-brown whitmoreite crystals are next to greenish clusters of beraunite and black botryoids of rockbridgeite. Not pretty to look at, but it hosts three rare phosphate species and is from the collection of the namesake of one of them. Dated 2003.
