Item Description

Tiny, glassy whitlockite crystals are scattered on the euhedral albite crystal matrix on this fine older piece from the famous Type Locality. Whitlockite is a rare phosphate discovered in 1940, so this is an EARLY piece. They are hard to see, as they resemble small albite crystals. The museum label is dated 1941 and was on display there.
