Whiteite-(CaFeMg) with Lazulite

Here we have a beautiful display specimen of Whiteite-(CaFeMg), part of the Whiteite Subgroup. This is a rare phosphate, and some of the most beautiful (and well known) crystals of the material are found at the classic Rapid Creek locality in the Yukon Territory in Canada. This area is only accessible for a few months per year and is rather treacherous terrain for collecting specimens. This piece is hosts very attractive, large, fine quality, sharp, lustrous, monoclinic crystals of tan Whiteite with minor deep blue Lazulite sitting on Quartz crystals on matrix. The largest Whiteite measures 1.8 cm long. No major damage that I can find. I have not seen many of these specimens on the market in the last few years, so don't pass this one up as the crystals are big, robust and fine quality for the species. Valued at $1,800.
