Item Description
Whiteite is a rare phosphate, and some of the most beautiful (and well known) crystals of the material are found in the Yukon Territory. This area is only accessible for a few months per year and is rather treacherous terrain for collecting specimens. This piece is hosts very attractive, sharp, lustrous, monoclinic crystals of brownish-tan Whiteite with minor Lazulite and Quartz on matrix. The largest composite group of Whiteite measures 2.8 cm. I have not seen many of these specimens on the market in the last few years, so don't pass this one up. It has a good amount of larger sized crystals, and how often can one find a piece in such fine condition on the market these days? From the collection of Wouter Van Tichelen. Valued at $800.
