White Plume Agate (recent find)

Item Description

A beautiful stone from a discovery in 2022. The locals have referred to this material as "White Plume Agate" found near the Gunung Sawe mountain in East Java. The material is essentially pastel lavender chalcedony/agate which plays host to beautiful "feathery" white inclusions or "plumes", hence the name. I'm told that this material is volcanic in origin, but I'm not certain if this is accurate. This particular stone was one of only a handful that we acquired from our source in Java. It's a fine quality and very attractive gem that I'm sure the vast majority of you don't have in your collections. I've never seen plume agate quite like this from anywhere else, as the material typically features darker colored "plumes", so the white colored material is rare.
