Item Description
Striking "wheat-sheaf" rhodochrosite specimens from the famous N'Chwaning I Mine are some of the rarest and most desirable rhodochrosite varietals from the famous N'Chwaning I and II Mines. The is a beautiful cluster of about a dozen highly lustrous, two-toned, barrel-shaped, crystal aggregates with gemmy, cherry red, dogteeth terminations on manganite ore giving the classic "wheat-sheaf" look. Periphery wear is noted, but is mostly out of sight and the display view is simply jewel-like. It is MORE GEMMY and SPARKLY IN PERSON, too. Excellent and rarely available, highly representative material from the late 1970s and early 80s, from the Grenier Collection. Valued $2000
