Item Description
Wendwilsonite is a rare hydrated calcium magnesium cobalt arsenate species. It was named in honor of the current and long time editor/publisher of the Mineralogical Record, Wendell Wilson. It was discovered in 1987 and Bou Azzer is the co-type locality for this beautiful species along with Sterling Hill, New Jersey. This piece features a vug filled with sharp, lustrous, gemmy/translucent, saturated purplish-red color monoclinic crystals on matrix. The largest crystal measures about 5 mm. Good quality up close, and this material is not often seen on the market these days. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
