Item Description

Weloganite is a very rare compex hydrated Na-Sr-Zr carbonate with easily the finet examples in the world coming from the extinct famous Type Locality - the Francon Quarry in Montreal. The bulk of the specimens were recovered in the late 1960s and 1970s. This complete all-around and pristine terminated crystal has unique layered form and straw-yellow color with luster and translucence. The tiny, gem-like, "Herkimer diamond" quartz crystals attached to the sides are a nifty accent. A very fine example of this rarity.
