Item Description
A bizarre looking and impressive large doubly terminated calcite crystal from Hardin County, possibly from the Denton Mine. The sculptural highly tapered crystal looks like a large dorsal fish fin! The striking razor tapered edge of the highly lustrous tan crystal is transparent, which adds real pizzazz. The prism faces have dramatic stepped-growth, adding even more visual appeal. The surreal hollow basal attachment shows that the main crystal is composed of two generations of calcite with included bitumen. The third generation scalenohedrons, to 2.0 cm, are super accessories to this highly unusual and excellent calcite. A must for the species or Hardin County collector!
