Item Description

A dramatic, highly unusual and rare large calcite combination specimen from a very obscure Oklahoma Tri-State District mine in Ottawa County. A huge, 8.4 cm, cream-colored calcite "ball" with a smaller ball is impressively set on chert matrix and accessorized with brassy, marcasite and chalcopyrite crystals on rubyjack sphalerite. Dripping water causes the color stains. Pristine, except for a small scuff on the small ball. This is certainly one of strangest and most unique Tri-State District calcites you will EVER see. Older material from the Bob Trimingham Collection and purchased by Bob at Mullen's Service Station in Picher, Oklahoma in 1969. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
