Item Description

Weinschenkite (of Laubmann) is the obsolete synonym of churchite-(Y), a rare hydrated phosphate. Tiny spherules, to about 1 mm, with a radial-fibrous structure are peppered on the undulating limonite matrix. Specimens of ANY species are rare from this extinct iron-manganese fine that operated from the mid 1800s to early 1950s. Older material from the Dennis Mullane Collection (1950s to early 1970s) and comes with a Ward's label. Seldom on the market from this locale. A must for the species or locality collector.
