Item Description
This is a notably hard to find specimen from Altmannsgrün in Saxony, Germany. This is arguably the best Wavellite specimen that we've had to offer from this locality. It features attractive radial "sprays" and "balls" of grey-blue colored Wavellite which are partially coated by a thin layer of yellow-green Variscite in spots. The largest complete undamaged "ball" of Wavellite measures 9 mm across, but some of the larger contacted spheres are a bit bigger. The label page accompanying the piece states that there is possibly Turquoise on the specimen. A good quality, showy and colorful specimen of this rather elusive material.
