Wavellite with Quartz

Some of the most aesthetic and displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo XX mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This specimen is from a recent find of this material (late 2011). This piece features attractive, fine yellow color, sphere-shaped radiating aggregates measuring up to 7 mm across with GEM QUALITY Quartz crystals on matrix. The quality of the spheres is good, especially when compared to finds from the last 20 years at Siglo XX. A great display specimen of an uncommon mineral, with good color. Valued at $350.
