Wavellite with Quartz

Item Description

Some of the most aesthetic and displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo XX mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This specimen is from a recent find of this material. This piece features a few yellow color, sphere-shaped radiating aggregates measuring up to 1.3 cm across associated with prismatic Quartz crystals on matrix. The quality of the Wavellite spheres is good, especially when compared to finds from the last 15 years at Siglo XX. A nice display specimen of an uncommon mineral. Please note that the single Quartz crystal flaring out of the top of the specimen is contacted, and not fully terminated.
