Item Description
Some of the most aesthetic and displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo XX mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This specimen is from a recent find of this material. This piece features dozens of light cream color, very lustrous, sphere-shaped radiating aggregates measuring up to 8 mm forming an attractive "mound" on matrix. Minor metallic Pyrhhotite can be seen along the edge of the specimen as well. The quality of the Wavellite spheres is impressive for the locality, and the species in general, especially when compared to finds from the last 15 years at Siglo XX. A nice display specimen of an uncommon mineral.
