Item Description

A nice big cabinet specimen consisting of velvety / vitreous, rich green to slightly blue-green (with a yellow-green hue in the cores) Wavellite botryoids from the famous Dug Hill locality in Arkansas. The largest complete "ball" measures 9 mm across, though some of the broken spheres are larger. Classic material, and certainly some of the most beloved Wavellite in the world for color. Typically, the spheres from this locality are broken / contacted because of the nature of the mining process and how the pieces formed. This piece has many complete undamaged spheres, but there are contacted areas around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. Great quality, color and size! Wavellite is not often seen with such intense coloring, and the material from Arkansas is among the finest for the species.
