Item Description

Overall, Florida doesn't produce a lot of mineral specimens, but occasionally something like this will find its way out of an old collection, and on to the market. This Wavellite specimen is a great example of this rarely seen material from the Central Florida Phosphate Mining District. These Wavellite "balls" are distinctive with their beautiful light golden color and good, albeit micro, crystallization. This piece features small (about 3 mm) radiating spherical groups of light beige/tan colored Wavellite on matrix. The Wavellite "balls" look beautiful up close, and we've done our best to illustrate them in the photos. If you collect phosphates, unusual locality pieces or minerals from FLORIDA, don't miss out on this lovely, seldom seen specimen.
