Item Description

A perfect pearlescent, 1.4 cm, nubby wavellite ball is jauntily perched on the scultpural matrix of wavellite and quartz points on this classic combination from the famous Siglo XX Mine. The secondary overgrowth of tiny wavellite balls on the quartz points and the broken wavellite balls revealing the striking radial growth of the wavellite blades add pizzazz to this very showy and highly representative 360-degree combination. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1337 and acquired from Scott Williams in 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
