Item Description

Some of the most aesthetic and displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo XX mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This specimen is from a recent find of this material (late 2011). This piece features a few attractive, yellow color, sphere-shaped radiating aggregates measuring up to 1.1 cm across on white / colorless translucent Quartz crystal matrix. It does appear that there is a "Japan Law" twin Quartz on the piece as well, but it's somewhat buried, so I can't be 100% sure. The quality of the spheres is good, despite a little bit of roughness, especially when compared to finds from the last 20 years at Siglo XX. A nice display specimen of an uncommon mineral, with good color.
