Item Description
Some of the most aesthetic and displayable specimens of Wavellite have come from the Siglo XX mine in Bolivia as described by Mark Bandy. This specimen is from a brand new find of this material, and literally came out of the ground a few months ago. This piece features several attractive very pale yellow color, rather lustrous, gemmy, sphere-shaped radiating aggregates and single crystals of Wavellite measuring up to 5 mm across associated with prismatic gemmy Quartz crystals on matrix. The quality of the Wavellites is very good, especially when compared to finds from the last 15-20 years at Siglo XX. I have photographed some of the Wavellites under the microscope to better illustrate their quality. A lovely display specimen of an uncommon mineral.
