Item Description

The Wavellite specimens from Arkansas are some of the finest examples of this well-known phosphate ever found. Even though Wavellite is found in many world localities, it's not often seen in fine display specimens. The specimens from the Avant area in Arkansas have superb color and excellent form. This piece is showy specimen featuring shimmering, beautiful blue-green Wavellite botryoids on matrix. There are many COMPLETE unbroken spheres of Wavellite which measure up to a full 1.0 cm across. Despite some roughness / contacts most of the Wavellites are remarkably complete on the display side with great form. The fact that the majority of the spheres are complete and not contacted is honestly not that common for this material. You'll see a lot of incomplete and just plain broken spheres of Wavellite from the various localities in Arkansas, so when you find an attractive piece like this with full complete spheres, it means something. Classic material, and certainly some of the most beloved Wavellite in the world for color. Valued at $750 for the coverage of mostly undamaged spheres.
