Wavellite (ex Rich Kosnar Collection) (rare locality specimen!)

The mine at Huanuni is one of the largest tin mines in Bolivia and is a true sight to see. This mine is better known for its phosphate species, but most often one thinks of species like Vivianite and Ludlamite. Fine specimens of Wavellite is actually incredibly RARE from Huanuni. This piece is one of the better Wavellites that we've offer from Huanuni for the size and quality. Small, gemmy, cream-colored, lustrous, spherical aggregates sitting on Pyrite matrix makes this a wonderful example of this very hard to find material. You don't see many specimens of Wavellite from Huanuni like this, especially in such great condition. This piece came out of the ground about 35 years ago, and is from the collection of Richard A.
