Arguably the finest examples of Wavellite are those from various localities in Arkansas. The superior size, quality and color of these pieces puts them in the highest tier of desirability for the species. This piece is an attractive large miniature / small cabinet specimen of the beautiful Wavellites from Avant, Arkansas. This piece features fine quality, lustrous, gorgeous rich green colored "balls" and radial "sprays" of Wavellite sitting on matrix. My favorite aspect of the piece is the beautiful complete / unbroken spheres sitting at the top specimen (the entire group measures 1.7 cm across). You'll see a lot of incomplete and just plain broken spheres of Wavellite from the various localities in Arkansas, so when you find a piece like this with a undamaged "balls", it's significant. There are also a few areas of bright green Variscite underneath the Wavellites, creating an attractive mix of color. It's rare to find Wavellite with Variscite in my experience from this locality, so this is a very worthwhile piece for any fan of phosphates or minerals from Arkansas.
