Here we have a sculptural and attractive small cabinet specimen of these beautiful Wavellites from the locality owned by Henry de Linde. Wavellite is known from many world localities, but the finest and most colorful specimens in the world are found in Arkansas. This piece features fine quality, strong blue-green colored "balls" of Wavellite measuring up to 8 mm across which can be seen on several sides of the cavernous and three-dimensional matrix. My favorite aspect of the piece is that the majority of the spheres are complete and not contacted, which is honestly not that common for this material. You'll see a lot of incomplete and just plain broken spheres of Wavellite from the various localities in Arkansas, so when you find an attractive piece like this with full complete spheres, it means something. Priced at $900 in the inventory. From the collection of Henry de Linde (March 21, 1923 – April 4, 2019) of Hot Spring, Arkansas. Henry was one of the most prominent figures in the history of Arkansas mining and mineral collecting. Along with being a miner, mineral collector and an amateur mineralogist, de Linde was one of the founders of the Coon Creek Association mineral club. He was the owner of several key localities in Arkansas including the Diamond Jo Quarry (on the south rim of Magnet Cove), the type locality for Delindeite, which was named in his honor in 1987.
