A fantastic big showy cabinet display specimen of these beautiful Wavellites from Mauldin Mountain. When it comes to Wavellite, the finest and most colorful specimens in the world are found in Arkansas. This piece features many superb quality, highly lustrous, beautiful light green colored "balls" of Wavellite measuring up to 1.0 cm across sprinkled over the underlying matrix. The most important aspect of the piece is the fact that the vast majority of the "balls" on the display side are COMPLETE and undamaged, which is the most highly desired quality one looks for in this material. You'll see a lot of incomplete and just plain broken spheres of Wavellite from the various localities in Arkansas, so when you find a showy cabinet like this with such attractive radiating "balls", it's truly exciting. A true classic from Arkansas. Valued at $950. From the collection of Henry de Linde (March 21, 1923 – April 4, 2019) of Hot Spring, Arkansas. Henry was one of the most prominent figures in the history of Arkansas mining and mineral collecting. Along with being a miner, mineral collector and an amateur mineralogist, de Linde was one of the founders of the Coon Creek Association mineral club. He was the owner of several key localities in Arkansas including the Diamond Jo Quarry (on the south rim of Magnet Cove), the type locality for Delindeite, which was named in his honor in 1987.
