Item Description
A robust cabinet specimen of these beautiful Wavellites from one of the most well-known localities for the species. Wavellite has been found in a good number of world localities, but some of the best quality and most colorful specimens in the world are found in Arkansas. This piece features a few fine quality, olive-green colored "balls" of Wavellite measuring up to 1.2 cm across filling seams and vugs in the host rock. My favorite aspect of the piece is that some of the spheres are complete and unbroken, which is honestly not that common for this material. You'll see a lot of incomplete and just plain broken spheres of Wavellite from the various localities in Arkansas, so when you find an attractive piece like this with full complete spheres, it means something. Additionally, there is a gentle iridescence that can be seen on the surface of the Wavellites, which is not common for the material.
