Wavellite (beautiful color)

This is a showy and sculptural and small cabinet specimen of these beautiful Wavellites from Mauldin Mountain. While has been Wavellite found in many world localities, arguably the finest and most colorful specimens in the world are found in Arkansas. This piece features fine quality, soft blue-green colored "balls" of Wavellite measuring up to 7 mm across which are covering the display side of the underlying matrix. My favorite aspect of the piece is that the vast majority of the spheres are complete and not contacted, which is honestly not that common for this material. You'll see a lot of incomplete and just plain broken spheres of Wavellite from the various localities in Arkansas, so when you find an attractive piece like this with full complete spheres, it means something.
