Item Description

A very aesthetic and striking tourmaline from the famous Pederneira Mine. The glassy, highly lustrous, translucent crystal is intensely striated. In fact, it is a watermelon tourmaline with a raspberry-red core that runs up about three-fourths of the crystal's length. The outer body is a pleasing chartreuse-green. The termination area is essentially opaque, dark green with a matte-black, pinacoidal termination. The STRIKING accessories at the base make this piece! A doubly terminated, 2.7 cm, water-clear, gem-like, smoky quartz crystal has a very pretty and gemmy, 2.0 cm, doubly terminated tourmaline attached to its side. Both the smoky and the tiny tourmaline are pristine. Contacting at the base of the large tourmaline is out of sight on the back and the infinitesimal termination edgewear is barely visible. This is a superior and excellent combination tourmaline from this renowned locale. 24 grams. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
