Item Description
A cute 360-degree watermelon tourmaline with quartz thumbnail from an unknown pegmatite in the well-known Sao Jose da Safira area near the famous Pederneira and Cruzeiro mines. Classic rich pink cores are clearly visible within the bright rich green bodies of the gem, very glassy, well-striated trigonal crystals. The two terminated, tabular, parallel-growth quartz crystals on one side are a fine accessory. The impressive main tourmaline is complete all-around, with the lightly dinged termination edge being only a modest detraction. An elegant thumbnail combination from the noted locale.
