A cute old-time watermelon tourmaline thumbnail from the famous Santa Rosa Mine and the Jaime Bird Collection. The basal core is a pretty pink surrounded by a gemmy and lustrous, teal-blue body. There is a very thin purple zone beneath the super-glassy, opaque termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very trivial termination edgewear. 12.82 carats or 2.5 grams. A classic older Santa Rosa tourmaline from the 1960s or 70s.
