Item Description
A showy matrix watermelon tourmaline from this classic Maine locality and the Bob Whitmore Collection. A well-placed, 5.0 cm, lustrous, partially translucent, layered, pastel-green tourmaline has preferential interior iron oxide tinting. The broken tip reveals the pink core, making this a watermelon tourmaline. The matrix is feldspar and quartz. Not pretty to look at, it remains highly representative combination material from this famous locale.
