Item Description

A really cool specimen of TRUE Watermelon Tourmaline from the world famous Dunton Gem Quarry in Maine. This piece is a nice representative single Tourmaline crystal with green striated, semi-lustrous exterior prismatic faces (neither end is terminated) with a gorgeous rich pink core. Additionally there are a few spots on the piece that show an unusual fluorescence under SW UV light, possibly a rare phosphate? If you consider the history, this material might be the world's first well-known Watermelon Tourmaline. This is a nice thick prism with good color and form. Great for any Tourmaline collector, or a Maine mineral collector.
