Item Description

A classic specimen of the well-known Wardites from Rapid Creek, a locality known for producing some world-class phosphates. This large miniature / small cabinet specimen hosts excellent, lustrous, sharp, translucent, soft greenish-yellow colored crystals of Wardite measuring up to 5 mm on host rock matrix. Good condition all around with very little damage. These are some of the most distinctive Wardite crystals from any locality in North America. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8674) whose label states that it came from the "University of Saskatchewan lab.", and the back of the label states that the piece was purchased from Don Doell in Tucson 1979. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
