Item Description
Wardite is a relatively rare phosphate, and some of the most beautiful (and well known) crystals of the material are found in the Yukon Territory. This area is only accessible for a few months per year and is rather treacherous terrain for collecting specimens. This piece is hosts several attractive, sharp, lustrous, tetragonal crystals of soft greenish Wardite on matrix. The largest Wardite measures 6 mm across. I have not seen many of these specimens on the market in the last few years, so don't pass this one up. The piece comes from an old East Coast collection with a label from the famous and recently deceased mineral dealer, Larry Conklin.
