Item Description

Wardite is a relatively rare phosphate, and some of the most beautiful (and well known) crystals of the material are found in the Yukon Territory. This area is only accessible for a few months per year and is rather treacherous terrain for collecting specimens. This piece is hosts of very attractive, sharp, lustrous, tetragonal crystals of greenish Wardite with minor blue Lazulite and blue-green Gormanite "needles" on matrix. The largest Wardite measures 1.1 cm across, which is very good sized for the species, and the locality. I have not seen many of these specimens on the market in the last few years, so don't pass this one up.
