Item Description

Wardite is a relatively rare phosphate, and some of the most beautiful (and well known) crystals of the material are found in the Yukon Territory. This area is only accessible for a few months per year and is rather treacherous terrain for collecting specimens. This piece is filled with very attractive, sharp, lustrous, tetragonal crystals of greenish-grey Wardite on matrix. The largest Wardite measures 1.1 cm across I have not seen many of these specimens on the market in the last few years, so don't pass this one up. It's a very rich coverage of crystals, the only thing holding it back is the fact that the Wardite have an unusual partial coating of an unknown mineral.
