Vivianite with Quartz and TOURMALINE on Siderite

Item Description

A sharp, lustrous, muted blue-green color, prismatic Vivianite crystal measuring 1.6 cm sits atop brownish Siderite matrix. There are some gemmy associated Quartz crystals on the piece, but the most notable aspect of the specimen is the fact that there are several small, acicular golden-brown Tourmaline crystals! at the base of the piece. Chicote Grande is one of the "forgotten" mines in Bolivia over the last 20 years as very little material has been available on the market, but in its day, this locality provided collectors with some very attractive display specimens. A good Vivianite association specimen from this well known Bolivian mine.
