Item Description

Here is a great old locality specimen of Vivianite from Bolivia. Subscribers to the Mineralogical Record know that and entire issue was dedicated to this unique and historic locality. This cabinet size piece features beautiful, semi lustrous, gemmy, blue green color, prismatic crystals of Vivianite measuring up to 1.5 cm associated with golden Marcasite and tan discs of Siderite with a "dusting" of black Sphalerite sitting atop gem quality "needle" Quartz matrix. The most important aspect of the piece is the fact that it features a few sharp, gemmy, bright pink tabular crystals of Apatite, which is a very desirable assocation from this mine. The largest Apatite crystal, although broken, measures 1.5 cm across. This material is rarely seen in today's market and this particular specimen is at least 25 years old. This is one of the better examples of this material with so many associated minerals from Siglo XX that I have seen in this size range. A wonderful overall display specimen of good quality.
