Item Description

Here is a great old locality specimen of Vivianite from Bolivia. Subscribers to the Mineralogical Record know that and entire issue was dedicated to this unique and historic locality. This miniature sized piece features beautiful, semi lustrous, gemmy, blue green color, prismatic crystals of Vivianite measuring associated with spherical aggregates of golden-brown crystallized Childrenite on minor matrix. I photographed the Childrenite under the microscope to better illustrate the quality, but you have to realize that these are some of the best crystallized examples of Childrenite that I've offered from this mine in the auctions. This material is rarely seen in today's market and this particular specimen is at least 25 years old. This is one of the better examples of this material especially with this HARD TO FIND association. A wonderful overall display specimen of good quality.
