Vivianite w/ Pyrite

This well-known Bolivian mine produced some the world's largest and finest vivianites from 1981 to 1992. A striking, highly sculptural, parallel-growth cluster of beautiful, indigo-blue to blue-green, prisms with a fabulous, luminous textured face is aesthetically set on the matrix plate partially covered with sparkly golden pyrite microcrystals. The impressive large vivianite is doubly terminated and is 6.0 cm tall. This is a surprisingly large vivianite crystal cluster, as part of it is hidden beneath the matrix crust. The overall dimensions are 7.5 x 7.3 x 3.7 cm! AND the large crystals GLOW with emerald-green gemminess when backlit. This is a very fine, large and stout laminated prism from this locale and is a Bolivian classic. Valued at $800-1000.
