Vivianite (Robertson Coll.)

Item Description

A very fine crystallized vivianite from this well-known locale. Lustrous jet-black prisms with brown highlights are densely and aesthetically clustered on this excellent two-sided plate. Pristine, except for a bit of periphery wear on one side. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12545 and acquired from the Rocksmith's. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). The deposit is mined out, making this classic and desirable material.
