Item Description

Vivianite is typically not seen in pegmatite deposits, but some of the most famous pegmatitic Vivianites are those from various localities in Brazil. The Ênio pegmatite locality is best known for its intense blue colored Apatite crystals, but here we have VERY rarely seen Vivianite from this locale. It's actually the very first piece of Vivianite that we've had to offer from Ênio. The piece consists of a slightly translucent, dark green-blue-black colored, layered crystal group of Vivianite associated with silvery-golden bladed crystal groups of Muscovite and no matrix. The Vivianite has a wonderfully well-formed, tapered termination and shows excellent luster on all sides. You'd be hard-pressed to find another piece of this material anywhere on the market, and if you're a fan of phosphate minerals, pegmatite species or general minerals from Brazil, do not pass this one up as it's unlikely we will have another anytime in the near future. The piece comes with an old label from dealers Mark and Jeanette Rogers from roughly 40-50 years ago.
