Item Description
A very rare and superb pseudomorph from the Kerch Peninsula. The large mollusc shell, encased in gossan matrix, has been completely replaced by vivianite. Striking sprays of lustrous, variably-sized vivianite blades line the interior of the mollusc. This is one of the finest and most complete vivianite mollusc pseudo we have seen at this size (most are 1-1.5 inches). This phosphate pod deposit is now mined through and gone. It is extremely rare to obtain specimens today of this top quality. Ex Kevin Brown. Valued $750-950
