Vivianite (GEM quality)

Vivanite from Huanuni has become increasingly difficult to obtain these days, and very little material has come out over the past decade. The phosphate zone at Huanuni hasn't produced much due to the fact that the miners are restricted from visiting this area to collect specimens. Recently, I learned that 7-8 miners were fired for taking specimens out of the mine, so it seems that good specimens from Huanuni will be nearly impossible to obtain. This particular specimen came out of Haununi in the early 1980's. It's a unique piece, and one of the better quality Vivianites I've offered from Huanuni in the auctions for a while. The piece hosts a sharp, highly lustrous, GEM quality blue-green color, prismatic crystal. A worthwhile, gem quality, little display specimen of this classic material.
